Later, we’ll gather for a welcome meeting to get to know each other better, followed by a fresh, nourishing dinner. Afterward, a local Costa Rican practitioner will lead a calming sound healing session. No effort or experience is needed; just sit back, listen, and enjoy.
Included :
- Transfers: Private charter flight
- Activities: Welcome meeting; Sound healing
- Meals: Welcome mocktail, Lunch, Dinner

After lunch, the afternoon is yours. Spend it poolside, visit the spa, follow the jungle paths, or find a quiet corner of the property to read, or simply rest and take in the sounds of the rainforest.
We’ll come back together a bit later for Identity & Reinvention to talk about life, change, and what you want to focus on next. After dinner, there’ll be a game night, an easygoing evening of laughter, conversation, and time together.

This slowcation is a good fit if you enjoy beautiful natural surroundings, a slower pace, thoughtful conversation, and being a part of a small women-only group.
It is designed for women who want a more meaningful way to experience Costa Rica, with nature, local culture, wellness experiences, nourishing meals, and time to simply enjoy the setting.
Wellness activities and workshops are included, but always optional. Join what feels right, skip what does not, and enjoy the week in your own way.
Costa Rica can be a little unpredictable at times. Weather, road conditions, and timing may not always feel exactly like home, so this trip is best for travelers who can go with the flow.
-
We’ll stay at a private rainforest property set on approximately 20 acres in the mountains near Dominical, a laid-back coastal town on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.
The property is surrounded by nature and wildlife, with beautiful shared spaces, walking paths, and plenty of room to relax. It is a high-end setting, but it is still the rainforest, so you may occasionally see small insects, geckos, or other signs of nature. If anything makes its way into your room, the front desk team can assist.
-
Women who join this trip come from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds and are typically in their mid-40s and beyond, with most ranging from their late 40s through their 70s.
Most women join solo, while some come with a friend, sister, or family member. The group usually feels comfortable quickly, especially since many guests arrive with a similar spirit of curiosity, openness, and ease.
-
This slowcation will include approximately 16-22 women, depending on the number of shared rooms booked.
We rent out the entire property exclusively for our group, so the experience feels private, peaceful, and uncrowded.
-
This trip is best suited for guests with a moderate level of mobility.
Yoga and movement activities are beginner-friendly, with modifications offered. You can participate at your own pace or skip anything that does not feel right for you.
The waterfall visit includes walking on a natural trail with some uneven terrain and a mild incline. It is not considered strenuous, but guests should feel comfortable walking on unpaved forest paths.
There is also plenty of time built in to rest, relax, and enjoy the property at your own pace.
-
The trip price includes private rainforest property accommodation, meals, a round-trip private charter flight, transportation during the itinerary, hosts, and all activities listed in the itinerary.
Spa treatments are not included and can be booked directly through the property’s front desk for an additional cost.
There is also a Wellness Bar on site where guests can purchase specialty drinks, including fresh juices, smoothies, mocktails, and specialty coffee beverages.
Please note that the property is a dry campus, so alcohol and other substances are not permitted on site.

International flights to and from San José (SJO) are not included in the trip price.
We recommend arriving in San José the day before the trip starts to ensure you do not miss the private charter flight to the rainforest property.
Same-day arrival is possible, but your flight should arrive at San José Airport no later than 6:30 AM to comfortably make the 9:30 AM charter flight.
At the end of the trip, we will arrive back at San José Airport around 11:00 AM. The domestic terminal is a short 5-10 minute walk from the international terminal, and we recommend booking international flights departing no earlier than 2:00 PM.
-
International airport pick-up on arrival in San José and drop-off after the trip are not included in the trip price.
Guests staying at the designated pre-trip hotel will have complimentary transportation to the domestic terminal for the charter flight. Guests staying elsewhere can make their own way to the domestic terminal.
If you plan to stay overnight in San José after the trip, taxis are readily available from the airport to hotels in the city.

January is one of the best times of year to visit Costa Rica, with warm temperatures and generally drier weather.
Our property is set in the mountains above Dominical, so it is often slightly cooler than the beach, especially in the mornings and evenings.
Typical temperatures are:
- Daytime: around 75–85°F / 24–29°C
- Evenings: around 68–72°F / 20–22°C
As we’ll be staying in a rainforest, occasional showers are always possible.
-
The official currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican colón, but U.S. dollars are commonly accepted in many tourist areas.
For this trip, you will not need much cash. The property is cashless, so cash is mostly useful for optional tips or small purchases at the Dominical market.
We recommend bringing a small amount of U.S. cash in $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. Larger bills can be harder for smaller vendors to change, and bills should be in good condition.
Safety boxes are available in all accommodations for passports, cash, electronics, and valuables.
-
Yes. The rainforest property is cashless, so credit and debit cards are accepted for purchases on site, including spa treatments, wellness bar items, and other optional services.
You won’t need to carry cash for most things during your stay. However, if you wish to leave optional staff tips, those are typically the only situations where cash may be useful. We will also provide a link at the end of the trip where you can tip the property staff by credit card.
-
Gratuities are never required, but they are always appreciated.
If you wish to leave a tip, the suggested amount is approximately $20 per guest per day, pooled and shared among the property’s local team, including kitchen staff, housekeeping, maintenance, gardeners, security, and guest services.
Tips may be given in Costa Rican colones or U.S. dollars. We will also share a secure credit card tipping link in the group WhatsApp at the end of the trip.
Tipping the trip hosts is not expected.
-
Yes. Laundry service is available for $25 per load and includes pick-up, wash, dry, fold, and delivery back to you.
Please allow 24 hours for turnaround.
-
Yes. The water at the property comes from the mountain’s well and is triple-filtered with UV, making it healthy and safe to drink from all faucets on the property.
You can refill your water bottle directly from the tap throughout your stay.
-
Most international cell phones will work in Costa Rica with an international plan or roaming enabled through your provider.
The property also offers Wi-Fi in the common areas and accommodations, so you can stay connected if needed. Because of the mountain setting, connection speeds may occasionally be slower than what you’re used to at home.
-
If you are traveling from the U.S. or Canada, you usually do not need an adapter. Costa Rica uses Type A and Type B outlets, the same plug types commonly used in the United States and Canada, with a standard voltage of 120V.
If you are traveling from another country, you may need a plug adapter, and possibly a voltage converter, depending on your device.
If you’re unsure, bringing a universal travel adapter is always a good idea, so you can easily charge phones, laptops, and other electronics during your stay.
-
Most travelers do not need special vaccinations to visit Costa Rica, but we recommend checking with your doctor or a travel clinic before traveling to make sure you are up to date on routine vaccinations.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required if you are arriving from, or have recently traveled through, certain countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. This generally does not apply to travelers arriving directly from the United States, Canada, or Europe, but it is always best to check current requirements based on your full travel route.
As with any international trip, please consult your healthcare provider for the most current recommendations based on your personal health and travel plans.
Flights
Your arrival and departure airport is San José, Costa Rica (SJO).
Please review the FAQ tab for details about arrival timing, airport transfers, the private charter flight, and recommended departure times.
*Please do not book flights until you receive an email from us. You will receive this email within 24-48 hours of booking your spot on the trip.
Visas
Citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and many EU countries do not need a visa to visit Costa Rica for tourism stays of up to 180 days.
Upon arrival, immigration officials may ask to see proof of onward or return travel, such as a departure flight ticket. Travelers may also be asked to provide the address of their accommodation during their stay.
We will provide the address and details of the private rainforest property in your pre-departure notes, which will be sent approximately two weeks before the trip start date.
If you are not a citizen of one of the countries listed above, we recommend checking with your nearest Costa Rican embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements.
As a general rule, your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. Many countries will not allow entry if your passport is set to expire within six months of your trip, so it’s important to check your expiration date well in advance of departure.
Weather in Early January
Early January is one of the best times of year to visit Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. It falls during the dry season, with warm tropical weather, lower rainfall than other times of year, and plenty of sunshine.
At our private rainforest property, expect warm days, humid air, and coastal breezes. It’s a beautiful time for beach visits, rainforest activities, waterfall swims, and sunset views.
Daytime temperatures are typically around 82–88°F / 28–31°C, with evenings around 72–75°F / 22–24°C. Because we’ll be staying in the mountains, mornings and evenings may feel slightly cooler.
